Mission Statement

The objective of this site is to present actionable information on how governments are using technology to combat the challenges facing their organizations today. The source of information will come from municipal leaders: council members, mayors, city administrators, department heads as well as technology professionals: vendors, consultants and subject matter experts. Leadership profiles, case studies, and vendor evaluations will make up the majority of information on the site, and readers will be encouraged to comment and interact with the community.

In the book Good to Great by Jim Collins, technology is identified as an 'accelerator’ – something that can increase the effectiveness and improve the impact of what you are trying to achieve. Governments have already accepted technology into most all areas of their business, but somehow still lack the understanding of how to unleash its potential to address the newest challenges; this source aims to address that deficit.

The goal of the blog is to remain current and focus on the areas of technology that can quickly add value to a public sector organization. The value will come in the form of cost reduction, operational efficiencies, added transparancy and accountability and other ideals that should be at the top of every municipal leader's wish list.
